Former Kerala Chief Minister and Present Opposition Leader of Kerala V.S. Achuthanandan criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spending too much on foreign visits here on Friday.

Addressing a gathering at the Centenary of the CPM leader K. Ramani at V.K.K Menon Road here, Achuthanandan alleged that Modi had spent more than Rs. 50 crore on foreign visits, but had failed to bring any major investments to the country. He also added that the Modi Government had miserably failed in fulfilling its election promises to the public. “Modi said that he would bring back black money and deposit Rs. 15 lakh rupees in every citizen’s bank account. That has not even touched a starting point,” he claimed.

Achuthanandan also complained that BJP was following the exact economic policies of the Congress party which was not good for the common people. “BJP is still supporting corporates and has become an enemy of the common people because of whom it has got into power,” he added. The former Kerala CM also claimed that despite projecting it has a corruption free Party; the States ruled by the Party, including Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh were still high in corruption.

“BJP has not shed its religious skin and supports religious outfits,” he said.
Condemning the Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu, Achuthanandan further claimed that both the DMK and AIADMK have instigated corruption in the State.

Unveiling the portrait of K. Ramani, he said that he was one of the pillars of the Party and was instrumental in its growth since it started in 1964.
