Two hacked to death in broad daylight

A four-member gang hacked two persons to death in broad daylight at Selvapuram on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as S. Selvaraj (35) and Anand (32). Selvaraj, an accused in the murder of one Vinodh of Selvapuram, came out on bail only couple of days ago.
According to police, Selvaraj was talking to Anand, when the four-member gang in two motor cycles approached them.
The two tried to escape in Anand’s autorickshaw. However, the gang chased and attacked them with lethal weapons. Anand died on the spot.
As Selvaraj tried to take shelter in an apartment complex, the gang members attacked him with sickles. Selvaraj was rushed to the Government Hospital with serious head injuries. But he died after some time.
The murders are said to be a revenge for Vinodh’s killing.
The attackers later surrendered before the Selvapuram police station. Further investigations are on.
