The long pending desire of Hadiya, who was recently in the news in connection with a love jihad case, was fulfilled on Wednesday, as she spoke to her husband over of her local guardian and Principal of Shivaraj Homoeopathi Medical College in Salem, where she is doing her internship.

Since her release from the custody of her parents in Kochi by Supreme Court, Hadiya aka Akhila Ashokan, her only desire was to talk to Shafin Jahan, whom she had married and converted into Islam, which resulted in a controversy.

“Hadiya talked to Jahan for a while from my mobile phone, after I, as local guardian, asked her whether she was interested in talking or meeting anybody, the college principal, G. Kannan, told reporters at Salem.

“She appeared to be relieved from depression after the talk. there is no restriction imposed to talk or to meet anybody,” he said.

She also expressed her deep regrets for the tense situation prevailing in the college and inconvenience to students due to her, Kannan said.

Stating that she has not given any application to change her name, he said that she has applied on her original name for internship. However, there was some confusion to the management about
where and with whom to send during the college holidays, Kannan said adding that to come out from this the management will approach the apex court.

All the rules and regulations and restrictions of the college will apply to her also and weekly once she will be allowed to go for purchase, along with the hostel wardens, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, the college correspondent, Kalpana Shivaraj, said that the management will extend all support to complete her course. “Hadiya’s request has been sent to Dr MGR University for approval,” she said.

A Sub-inspector, four constables – two female and two male – will be part of her security.
