Students of the KSG College of Arts and Science, on Wednesday, conducted a road safety rally that began at the college campus and ended at Ramanuja Nagar in order to raise awareness on road safety. The event was organized by the Kovai Madhiya Arima Sangam.

As many as 300 students participated in the rally, holding road safety placards and shouting slogans of road safety. V. Prabhakaran, the organizer, said that the event was organized as part of the week-long road safety celebrations by the association. “Many lives are lost in accidents due to carelessness. This event is aimed at creating awareness about road safety and the importance of road rules,” he said.

He informed that the Kovai Madhiya Arima Sangam had donated mini-libraries to 100 government schools in the city on Sunday; given bed spreads and mats to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday; and had planted 8500 trees all over the district on Wednesday.

The organization will conduct an eye-screening camp for the students of KSG College on Thursday, and a blood donation camp on Friday. “We will also conduct a free health camp for the general public near Ondipudhur on Saturday,” he added.
