Coimbatore :  Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today accused the BJP-led Central Government of meting out step-motherly treatment to the non-BJP ruled States.

He told mediapersons at the city airport that the Centre was not sanctioning adequate funds for the development of the Union Territory and releasing funds for BJP-ruled States.

“Without giving proper funds for development works, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving ‘halwa’ to Puducherry,” he said referring to a recent incident where BJP workers distributed halwa to counter the sales of pakoda by Congress workers.

About the unveiling of portrait of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu Assembly, Narayanasamy said, “The party’s stand is my stand also. And the opinion expressed by Congress MLA Vijayadharani is her personal view.”
