COIMBATORE: Read any book that would help you become more matured. The purpose of education is to help the students flourish, said Dr. Sudha Seshaiyan who is the Vice Principal of Madras Medical College, Chennai.

Addressing students, faculty members and alumni of Kumaraguru College of Technology here, she outlined on the Arutchelvar Ayya mission to impart Gandhian and Vallalar’s principles of life to students through education.

More than 1000 students of the college received the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Award here on Friday.

The scholarship, worth Rs. 1.02 crores, were given to 1025 students who excelled in academics, co-curricular and extra- curricular activities.

The Joint Correspondent of KCT, Shankar Vanavarayar, delivered the presidential address.

College Principal Dr. J. Senthil, Vice-Principal of Madras Medical College M. Balasubramaniam, Head of Science and Humanity Department Dr. P Devaki and several others were present.
