About 1,650 kilos of salt was used by the students of Anan Kids Academy to draw a 3,000 square feet portrait of the former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, on his 84th birth anniversary today.

About 345 students from pre-KG up to Class X used salt to draw the portrait. It took three hours for the students to complete the portrait. Five different colours were used. The event will be forwarded to the Limca Book of Records, Amit Kumar, principal of the academy, informed.

“A nation like India with its diversity is blessed to have a leader like Kalam, who with his secular approach and down to earth manner has become an important part
of our lives. He is like the salt in our food – something we cannot do without,” the principal said.

“The portrait is a fitting tribute to a great statesman and visionary like Kalam,” the students said. “We are spreading his message to dream big and strive hard to achieve them.”
