Propel’s Bodhimaram launched for students in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Bodhimaram, a CSR initiative of Propel Industries, Coimbatore, was officially launched here today by Bodhimaram founder Vidhya Senthil Kumar.

Started in 2017 with a vision to partner with schools to enhance holistic development of students through experimental and activity based learning, Bodhimaram aims to ignite student’s innate passion and curiosity. This should help empower them to realise their full potential.

Vidhya spoke about the groundwork for Bodhimaram and a month-long summer camp was held in Kadiri Mills Higher Secondary School. The focus was on overall development of students and the programme had many subject and industry experts. The would be year-long weekend programmes.

This year the organisation joined hands with LMES (Let’s Make Engineering Simple, Chennai) who are known for impressive and easy scientific experiments, to conduct the country’s first Science A-Thon at the Codissia Coimbatore- E Hall on May 5. Students, teachers, parents and headmasters said help was needed in two areas – life skills meaning spoken English and computer and physiological and career counseling and personality development.

The other aspect was to strengthen basics in maths and science to also get prepared for Science A-Thon. About 1,500-2000 students are expected to participate in the May 5 event.
