Training on consumer rights in Coimbatore on May 12

Coimbatore: A one-day free training programme on consumer rights will be held on May 12. Organised by Citizens Voice Club, Coimbatore Consumer and Environ Centre at Vivekalaya Matric Higher Secondary School, it is aimed to educate people on consumer and civic rights and responsibilities by empowering them through RTI Act. The programme is scheduled between 10 am and 1 pm.

Through this, the club aims to focus on residential welfare associations, college students, retired people and house wives on first-come first-booked basis by mailing at [email protected].

A website for consumers www.citizensvoicecoimbatore.com will be launched as public domain during the programme.

Leading RTI/consumer, anti-corruption activists, advocates and experts were expected to address the participants and share their experience. Sessions on rights and duties under RTI as also Consumer Protection Act and its ensuing amendments would be explained along with FAQs (frequently asked questions).

Participants will be given training manuals and certificates.
