Over 2.35 lakh visit govt expo at Coimbatore in 15 days

Coimbatore: A little over 2.35 lakh people visited the ongoing Government exhibition in the last 15 days generating a revenue of Rs.9.83 lakh, three times more than during the corresponding period last year.

A total of 2,27,502 persons had visited the 37-day exhibition in 2017 and this year the number of visitors is expected to surpass this, official sources said.

Tamil Development and Information Secretary R Venkatesan today reviewed the progress of the expo organised by the department, they said.

The exhibition, began on April 15, is the 33rd in Coimbatore and 192nd in Tamil Nadu.

The achievement and schemes from the departments of information and Publicity, Tourism, Industries, Rural Development and Panchayat,
Forest, Agriculture, Home, Animal Husbandry and several other departments are being showcased in the 45-day exhibition.
