Farmers Association petition for market centre for the sale of betel nuts

With 5 to 7 tonnes of betel harvest per acre, the farmers from Tamil Nadu have to take it to Karnataka and Kerala for sale which puts the small farmers in difficulty. Hence, the Tamil Nadu farmers association have submitted a petition to District Collector, T.N Hariharan requesting that a market complex for the sale of betel nuts be set up in Tamil Nadu.
