Passionate cartoonist donates earnings to old age home in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Cartooning is service for E Kavikumar, a 20-year-old graduate in BVOC food processing technology. A self-taught professional cartoonist, he is donating his proceedings from events to an old age home in the city.

Kavikumar developed his skills to perfection and performs sand art, doodle art, speed painting and creative drawing professionally. He won the state-level competition with his creative drawing in 2015.

Without an artistic background, Kavi works on his own to achieve his dreams. He always wants to bring innovation into his drawings. He creates art for people approaching him and charges Rs 350-500 which he donates to an old age home. He also got chances to do stage shows which made people recognise his skill.

“Draw whatever you desire everyday. It does not matter if it’s boring and tedious. Bring in the level of dedication when you do something you love. Only then can you really create something inspiring,” says Kavikumar.

“I started sketching when I was in Grade IX. I was very passionate in drawing which later turned as my profession. When I was in college people approached me and I started doing stage shows. I started donating my earnings from art to an old age home in the city. As a person one should have social concern,” he adds.
