Handloom expo cum sales inaugurated

A 15-day handloom exhibition cum sales was inaugurated in the city today.
Handloom products like Coimbatore Kora Cotton saris, pure silk, Negum Cotton Saris, Chennimala bed sheets and bed spreads are on display and will be sold with 30 per cent discount, the district collector, Archana Patnaik, who inaugurated the
expo, said. The expo has 22 stalls from 42 cooperative societies from Erode, Tirupur, Salem, Dindigul, Karur and Coimbatore.

The Pongal exhibition held early this year had registered a sale of Rs.80 lakh from 80 stalls and this expo was expected to achieve a sales of Rs.50 lakh, she added.
