Faculty development programme held at SREC

A five-day Faculty Development Programme on Hortonworks Hadoop HDP was organized by the Department of Information Technology, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, in association with ICT Academy of Tamilnadu (ICTACT), Chennai and Hortonworks, Bengaluru.
Shanmugavel Somu, Deputy Manager, ICTACT, Chennai, trained the participants on Hadoop concepts, HDFS architecture, Map Reduce, Pig, Hive, Scoop, Flume, HCatalog, YARN and Oozie.
The workshop included classroom and laboratory sessions. Around 40 participants from autonomous, government and self-financing institutions from Tamil Nadu participated in this workshop. All participants received participation certificates issued by ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu (ICTACT).
