One arrested for possessing gun, bullets

One person was arrested today in connection with the recovery of a gun and four bullets from the premises of an apartment near Thondamuthur in the city, late last night.
Based on a tip-off by the residents in the area, police had recovered the weapon and ammunition from near the stairs of the apartments yesterday.
Investigation led to the arrest of one Balaji, residing in the same apartment and preliminary inquiry revealed that the gun and bullets were presented by his friend, police said.
However, not convinced with his revelation, further investigations are on. A case under Arms Act has been registered against him, police said.
