In an audio tape, which has gone viral, Maharashtra Congress chief Ashok Chavan was heard expressing displeasure over the selection of the candidate on the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat and said that no one in the party has been listening to him. He was also heard saying that he is planning to quit as the party chief in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Congress chief Ashok Shankarrao Chavan has dropped hints of quitting the post over the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat row. An audio tape of a conversation between him and a party workers, who identified himself as Rajurkar, has gone viral. India Today TV has accessed the audio tape.

In the audio tape, Ashok Chavan expressed displeasure at the selection of the candidate for the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat and also said that no one in the Congress party is listening to him.

The Maharashtra Congress chief said that he had to field Vinayak Bagde from the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat as no one was listening to him about the matter and he planning to quit as the state chief.

“I tried to explain too. I am also planning to resign,” he said.
