55-year-old man arrested for raping teen

A 55-year old man was arrested near Pollachi on charges of sexually assaulting a seventeen year old girl. The girl is a heart patient who was getting treated at a local hospital.
The man, Ramakrishnan, was a relative of the girl, a resident of Kanjapattinagoor near Pollachi. He used to take her to hospital for routine heart check-ups.
On November 8, he took her to the hospital but didn’t return even the next day. The girl’s parents couldn’t contact him because his mobile phone was switched off. Worried, they filed a complaint.
The Komangalam police began looking for Ramakrishnan and the girl. He was caught, and, on inquiry, the police found that he was holding the girl in a house in Eripadi village and had sexually assaulted her.
The police rescued the girl and have arrested Ramakrishnan for abduction and rape.
