The BJP state party chief Tamilisai Soundararajan has said that the party will prepare its own report on Cuddalore, which was ravaged by the recent rains, and submit it to the prime minister. The report will be handed over by BJP national general secretary, Muralidhar Rao, who is also in-charge of Tamil Nadu.

When asked why the PM was silent on the rain situation in Tamil Nadu, but had announced a Rs.1,000 crore aid to Jammu and Kashmir, she replied that Modi had already expressed his concerns on the social media.

Blaming the state government for not submitting the disaster report, Tamilisai said that Cuddalore should be declared as ‘natural disaster district,’ and accused the chief minister of not personally touring the district to evaluate the damages. She has also blamed the lack of proper infrastructure in Chennai as the major reason for the chaos.

She refused to comment on the reported assault on DMDK MLA by the party chief Vijaykanth, saying that he was an ally of the BJP.

Tamilisai Soundararajan had come to Coimbatore to release a CD highlighting the achievements of NDA government. Titled ‘Modiyin Vithai,’ she said that the CD will be translated in all languages and distributed all over the country.
