Coimbatore : Police today arrested nine persons on charges of sexually abusing a minor girl for the past few months in nearby Pollachi.

The father of the girl, a 10th standard student, had lodged a missing complaint Friday, based on which police started investigation and nabbed one Amanullah, said to be the lover of the girl, police said.

On interrogation, he is said to have confessed of sexually abusing the girl, along with eight other friends in the last few months, they said.

All the nine were held late last night and after registering cases they were arrested Saturday afternoon and remanded..

The Incident came to light, after the girl narrated her plight of sexual abuse, police said, adding that they were on the lookout for another person involved in the case..

The case sent shock waves in and around Pollachi, some 35 Kmsfrom here, which had witnessed another sexual harassment case by a gang on a 19-year old girl, taking her nude video and blackmailed her some five months ago and the case which is now being probed by CBI.
