Coimbatore to host CM’s Trophy Sports Meet

The Chief Minister’s Trophy Sports Meet will commence in Coimbatore from November 23 to 30.

According to a press release, ten events, including athletics, basketball, tennis, volleyball, football, swimming, kabbadi, shuttle badminton, and table tennis for men and women, will be conducted in the city. The competitions will be held at Nehru stadium, Dr. NGP College, Jenney’s Club, and PSG College of Technology grounds.

The participants should be under the age of 25 and should have been living in the participating district for more than five years. Interested participants should submit their original Nativity Certificate, photocopies of the ration card, voter ID, drivers’ license, school marksheets, or the transfer certificate.

While the first prize for both the singles and team events for the trophy is Rs.1 lakh, the first runners-up will win Rs.75,000, and the second runners-up will take home Rs.50,000. Three prizes, including Rs.1000 for the winners, Rs.750 for the first runner up, and Rs.500 for the second runner up, will also be given for each competition. Teams should register on or before November 22, and single participants can register until November 29.
