Heavy rains bring respite to scorching heat

The onset of southwest monsoon has brought considerable rainfall to Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts. Heavy rainfall was observed in the Covai belt for the past two days. As an extension, places like Gandhipuram, Railway Station, Saibaba Colony, Koundampalayam and Thadagam was pounded by heavy rains this afternoon. This affected normal mobility for few hours.
