250 pirated DVDs seized

Two persons were arrested in Coimbatore city on the charges of possessing a large number of DVDs and CDs, including those of recently released Tamil films.

Police raided a house in Saramedu near Podanur based on a tip off that CDs of new films are being sold from there. During the raid, the police recovered about 250 DVDs, including those of the Diwali Tamil releases like ‘Vethalam’ and ‘Thoongavanam’.

Police had also arrested two men – Abu Tahir and Sarbuddein – who were present at the house.
