Lorry strike across Tamil Nadu

The Lorry Owners Association has announced that it will go on a statewide strike from December 27, emphasising on various demands. MR Kumaraswamy, state president of the Lorry Owners Association, told reporters that 49 companies that make speed limiters have approval. However, only 12 companies are currently being licensed by the Tamil Nadu government. As many as 4.5 lakh heavy vehicles and 6 lakh small vehicles are participating in the strike. Only lorries carrying medicines, dairy products and water will run.
