The role of women in effectively contributing to home and organizational building, and their involvement in improving the GDP of the nation was lauded at a faculty development programme held by the Women Empowerment Cell of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College here.

The programme with the theme ‘Empowering Women in Higher Education’ saw experts speak on the different needs of women that should be focussed to help them contribute to society effectively. Around 50 faculty members from various institutions in and around Coimbatore participated.

Sessions on work-life balance, professional etiquettes, importance of investing and saving, etc., were conducted by experts from the industry and academia.  N. R. Alamelu, Principal of the college, and K. Chitra, Director, Management Studies, also spoke.
