Kirtilal Kalidas was founded by Sri Kirtilal Kalidas Mehta. He started the journey of selling diamonds in Coimbatore in 1929 after which they came up with a showroom here in 1939. A manufacturing unit of Kirtilals which started out in 1992 comprises of 80% women employees who hail from from rural pockets in and around the district.
