Contact Clinic for pro boxing on August 1

The recently launched Indian Boxing Council (IBC) is conducting First Contact Clinic (FCC) at Sri Guru College of Technology on August 1 for the benefit of South Zone boxers.

The clinics were conducted across India, in order to educate the promoters, trainers and boxers the nuances of professional boxing and the various processes involved,as well as the benefits that may accrue to them financially, Brig. (Retd) P. K. Muralidharan Raja, President, IBC, said in a release today.

Stating that IBC was launched on July 8 to promote and govern the sport of professional boxing in India, Raja, who was the Secretary General of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation from 2004 -2012, claimed that IBC had given Beijing Olympics Bronze Medalist Vijender Singh the IBC’s First Pro Boxing License on July 14 at Delhi.

The Council had organised FCC for North Zone in two locations–Bhiwani on July 13 and Patiala on July 15, which had attracted large number of boxers, trainers, and promoters, he said.
He urged all the interested promoters, trainers and boxers from South Zone, who are keen to be part of India’s professional boxing fraternity to make use of the opportunity.

FCC for ProBoxing for South Zone will be conducted at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam,soon, Raja said.
