Coimbatore woman bags achiever award in Chennai

Coimbatore-based J. Mohanasundari, the Managing Director of Sharp Electrodes, was honoured in Chennai for her achievements as an entrepreneur.

The award function, supported by Yuva Media and Entertainment, was held yesterday in Chennai.

Among the other winners are Dr. Tessi Thomas, the ‘Missile Woman of India’ and Project Director of Agni; Meenakashi Vijayakuari, the first woman fire officer of India; Pooja Thakur, the first Indian woman to lead the guard of honour for the U.S. President; Rupa Devi, the first Indian woman football referee for FIFA; renowned film director Sudha Kongara; Laxmi Agarwal, an acid victim survivor turned social activist; Vasanthakumari, Asia’s first woman bus driver; and Dr. Malini Chandresekaran, a medical researcher.

Mohanasundari won the award for entrepreneurship. “I’m happy that my work was recognized,” she said. “This award is for my entire team who is also my family. Winning an award puts more pressure to deliver results.”
