Shankar’s widow discharged from hospital

Kausalya, who attempted suicide a week ago, was discharged from the Government Hospital in Coimbatore.
The 19-year-old widow had consumed poisonous powder, in her in-laws house in Komaralingam in Tirupur District, on May 12, reportedly due to the mental depression of losing her husband, whom she married some 10 months ago. She was admitted to the hospital.
With her condition improving and stable, Kausalya was discharged yesterday and sent to Komaralingam, amid tight security.
Shankar, her husband, was hacked to death by three member gang in Udumalpet, when he, along with Kausalya, was waiting for bus. Kausalya also sustained serious injuries and had undergone treatment.
Shankar was reportedly killed by the henchmen hired by Kausalya’s parents, who have been arrested.
