A member of the Bharath Sena, dressed like Lord Ganesha, today submitted a petition to the district administration urging it to allow them to install statue of the elephant God in important junctions in the city during Ganesh Chathurthi festival that falls on September 5 this year.

R. Senthil Kannan, Bharath Sena president, said that the police department and administration should not put barricades citing rules, during the celebrations. He appealed to the authorities to permit them to install more Ganesha statues than last year. “The administration should allow us to celebrate the festival with full freedom,” he said.

Several members of the organisation, dressed up like the Lord, came in two wheelers.
