Maoists handed over charge sheet, demand probe into killings in Kerala

A district court here today handed over the copies of charge sheet to the five Maoists, arrested some 18 months ago and lodged in the central jail here, even as the accused.demanded a judicial inquiry into the killings of Maoists in the jungles of Kerala.
The Maoists – Rupesh and his wife Shyna, Anup, Veeramani and Kannan, who were arrested in May 2015 from Karumathampatti on the outskirts, were produced before the First Additional District Judge. As they were being brought to the court, the Maoists raised slogans against the Kerala Government for killing their colleagues yesterday in a shoot out.
The copies of the charge sheet, running into nearly 4,200 pages, were handed over to them. The case was posted for December 8.
As they were being taken back to the prison amid tight security, the Maoists demanded a judicial inquiry into the shoot out in Neelambur in Kerala and death of two Maoists.
Balamurugan, representing the accused, said that the 25 cases in Tamil Nadu and three in Kerala were ‘foisted against them.’
