Bridging the gap between govt and pvt schools, the CRI way

Students of the Saravanampatti Government Higher Secondary School showcased their talents at the Mupperum Vizha (Literary, sports & felicitation for teachers) here recently.
Organised by CRI Pumps Coimbatore, as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the event was held on December 2 to bring out the talents among government school students. The company has so far adopted nine government schools in Coimbatore under the Government School Development scheme.
A release from the company said that such events were held to bridge the gap between Government and private schools in terms of infrastructure facilities and quality of education imparted.
Presiding over the event, N. SriRangaboopathy, deputy general manager, CRI Pumps urged the students to study well and give equal importance to literary and sports activities for their holistic development.
Various cultural events and sports competitions were held. Winners were given away prizes.
V.C. Arukutti, MLA, Kavundampalayam constituency, V.K. Devaraj, former director of School Education, Govt of Tamil Nadu, M. Gopalakrishnan, president of Parents Teachers Association and several others participated.
