College student arrested for revenge porn

A 19-year-old engineering college student was arrested for posting obscene pictures of his ex-girlfriend on the internet.
The student Gautham, doing his fourth year B.E. in a private college, was in a relationship with the girl and had taken many photographs with her in the past. He had reportedly tried to extort Rs.1 lakh from her and had threatened to upload her intimate pictures on the social networking websites if she refused to pay up.
He went on to post the pictures on the internet. The girl filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police. The cops, keeping in mind his future, arrested him but let him go with a strict warning. But Gautham went on to steal the password of the girl’s account and posted more pictures. The Police eventually trapped him.
He has been remanded to custody.
