Police are investigating a complaint about a robbery of three kg gold by motorcycle borne four-member gang. According to police the gang waylaid a van in Peelamedu, which was taking the gold bricks to a jewellery shop in the city.
According to the complaint lodged, four persons in two motor cycles, waylaid their vehicle and after attacking them fled with the bags, containing the gold, police said. It also contained a few kgs of silver, they added.
Senior police officials, led by Commissioner A. K. Vishwanathan, are investigating the matter, they said.
