The silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the attack on CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury indicated that he also has the same mindset like the attackers, CPI National Secretary K. Narayana alleged today.

Condemning the attack on Yechury, Narayana told reporters here that such attacks leashed by RSS hooligans clearly showed the dictatorship mentality of the ruling BJP in the country.

“The BJP should respect democracy and also other political parties. Modi’s silence indicates that he also has a similar mindset,” Narayana, who is here to attend the two-day party State Committee meeting, said.

He also condemned the firing on farmers in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, killing five persons and wanted the Home Ministry to take action in this regard.

Neglecting the demands of the farmers across the country like minimum support price and also loan waivers, including Tamil Nadu, BJP government was supporting the big corporates and rich by giving sops and concessions to the tune of Rs.13.5 lakh crore, he alleged.

On Tamil film star, Rajinikanth’s reported entry into politics, Narayana said that if he floated his own party, the people may accept him and he preferred to join BJP, then he will be totally rejected by the people.
