Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani has taken on actor Kamal Hassan and asked him to furnish evidence on the corruption charges he has raised. Also, the actor should provide details of tax paid by him, the Minister said today.

‘’He is making allegations without any proof. Is there any evidence to provev corruption in the State? If he cannot provide proof, he should stop blaming the State government,‘’ Velumani told mediapersons here.

The actor had not been staying in the State for long and has suddenly started turning against the State Government, he added.

The Chief Minister was talking to the film sector with regard to entertainment tax and trying to resolve it. Kamal Hassan was also aware of this and came up with baseless allegations, Velumani said.

Stating that the Centre had sanctioned Rs1,500 crore for various schemes immediately after meeting the Prime Minister and other Central ministers in Delhi, he said. The actor did not appear to be aware of this, he added.

Regarding merger of AIADMK factions, he said: ‘’We are willing for a merger and talks are going on.’’

Earlier, the Minister visited the Government Hospital, where a few persons injured in a bus accident near Mettupalayam last night were admitted.
