Heavy rains and floods across Pune delayed the departure of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express by as many as 4.15 hours here on Tuesday.

Pune and its surrounding areas have been largely affected by heavy rains for the past four days. As a result, transport was cut off to various places and the railroad between Mumbai and Pune was cut off for a day.

Since heavy rains continued on Tuesday, the LLT Kurla Express (Train No. 11014) plying between Coimbatore and Mumbai, which was scheduled to depart from Coimbatore at 8.45 a.m. was delayed by 4.15 hours and departed to Mumbai at 1.00 p.m.

The delay was also triggered by the delay of the pairing train (11013) LTT-CBE, by five hours. The LTT-CBE train was scheduled to arrive at Coimbatore by 8.00 a.m. and it arrived at 12.10 p.m. in the noon.

Though it inconvenienced passengers of both trains, Railway officials claimed that they couldn’t do anything since the delays were caused because of a natural calamity.
