Karnataka elections: BJP releases second list of candidates

Bangalore : Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday released the second list of its candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections which would be held on May 12. The list includes the names of 82 candidates.

The list comes immediately after Congress released its list of candidates for 218 constituencies on April 15. According to sournces, the names of the candidates were finalised by party’s central election committee (CEC), which comprises Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah.



BJP, which is striving to return to power in Karnataka after a gap of five years,released its first list on April 8. The party has announced Yeddyurappa as its chief ministerial candidate, with a target of winning 150 out of 224 assembly seats.
