Shiroor seer’s death: All you need to know about Ramya Shetty

Ever since Udupi police took over the case of mysterious death of Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha, one name that has been constantly making news is that of Ramya Shetty. Ramya Shetty was reportedly close to the seer so much that she would prepare food for the seer.
There have been unconfirmed reports that she used to interfere in mutt’s administration as well. In fact, Pejawar Mutt seer Vishvesha Theertha Swami had made a startling disclosure that the deceased seer was addicted to wine and women.
Since then, Shiroor mutt employees pointed fingers at Ramya Shetty, who was said to be close to the seer.
Ramya Shetty, a native of Peruvaje village in Sullia taluk, Dakshina Kannada district is the daughter of Premanath Shetty and Indira Shetty. Forty-two-year-old Ramya Shetty has a sister, who stays in Udupi. Ramya was married to Prasad Shetty.
But Prasad Shetty passed away some time ago in Dubai. The couple has a son Pravan (9). As the news of Ramya Shetty being linked with the seer’s death, her parents have reportedly left the village.
The police who went looking for her to the house found it to be locked. Ramya Shetty has been reportedly detained by the Udupi police after she allegedly tried to escape while wearing a burkha.
