10 injured as van rams into lorry

Thanjavur: At least 10 persons travelling in a van were injured near here today when the vehicle rammed into a lorry from behind.

A group of 17 persons, all hailing from Pillaiyarpatti village, had set out in the van to Tirupati today. While climbing down the Sanoorapatti bridge, the van attempted to overtake the lorry when it rammed into the lorry from behind.

At least 10 passengers in the van, including Govindaraj (50), Anitha (26) and Deepa (32), were injured. All the injured were rescued and admitted to a private hospital in the city.
