2 chain-snatching cases in RS Puram

Two incidents of chain-snatching were reported in RS Puram in the city on Sunday. The loss suffered to two women was 17.5 sovereigns of gold worth Rs 1.75 lakh.
In the first incident, two motorcycle-borne youths snatched a 11.5-sovereign chain of Maheswari, 47, on Venkatasamy Road in RS Puram when she was returning with her child after attending a marriage function, police said.
In the other incident, Umarani, 33, was walking towards Flower Market Road with her daughter when two persons came in a motorcycle and snatched a six-sovereign chain, police said.
Police have filed cases and investigation is on.
