7 arrested for murder over cricket match

Police have taken into custody seven persons in connection with the murder of a young man in Coimbatore yesterday.
The victim, Rajesh Kumar, was an engineer. He was brutally killed by a gang that arrived in a car, while he was passing them by, on foot. They first attacked him with knives and weapons before killing him.
Investigations revealed that the seven persons were from Pazhaiyur. The arrested include a first-year college student and law graduate. The police found that previous enmity between two groups over a game of cricket had led to the brutal murder. The hostility peaked during Vinayak Chaturthi holidays.
