Accusing both the AIADMK and the DMK for not contributing to the development of the city, DMDK Chief Vijayakanth said that the city had turned from Manchester city to a shameless city.

Campaigning for the candidates of the PWF, DMDK and TMC at Vadavalli, in Coimbatore, on Saturday, Vijayakanth added that the parties have only spoilt the city.

“It took much time for me to come to Vadavalli from the city because of the traffic woes here,” he complained.

Claiming that even a smaller city like Bangkok has got more than 300 flyovers, he pondered that Coimbatore was having a very few flyovers.

“Water too is a major problem for the people here as there is supply only once in 15 days. The Under Ground Drainage plan too has not been implemented here,” he claimed.

He further stated that the ruling AIADMK had failed to solve the electricity woes in Tmail Nadu.

“I have just returned from the Nilgris and will work further for the people of the State,” claimed the Chief Ministerial candidate of the alliance.

Later, Vijayakanth campaigned at the Sulur constituency..
