AIADMK ministers and senior party-men to oversee election work

Chennai: The ruling AIADMK today deputed 24 senior functionaries, including 18 ministers, to oversee election work in three Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu and a lone constituency in Puducherry, which will go to the polls on November 19. They have been appointed in-charge of election committees.

A party release said the functionaries in the respective districts should extend full cooperation to the election committee members. “The announcement has been made with the approval of the Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa,” the release said.

Ministers Edappadi K Palaniswamy, P Thangamani, K C Karuppannan and M R Vijayabhaskar, besides party minorities wing secretary A Anwar Raja will oversee Aravakurichi constituency.

Ministers SP Velumani, R Kamaraj, OS Manian, Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, C Vijayabaskar, R Duraikannu and G Baskaran and Thanjavur south district secretary R Vaithilingam and MP P Kumar will be incharge of Thanjavur constituency.

In Thiruparankundram, party treasurer and senior minister O Panneerselvam, along with Dindigul C Sreenivasan, Sellur K Raju, R B Udayakumar and K T Rajenthra Bhalaji will be incharge of elections.

Ministers C Ve Shanmugam and M C Sampath, besides senior functionaries S Semmalai, Sorathur R Rajendran and P Purushothaman have been deputed for Puducherry’s Nellithope constituency.
