Alcohol addict commits suicide

A 45-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison in Coimbatore on Saturday.
According to sources, the deceased, K. Arumugam, was residing at Kempatty Colony with his wife, Vasanthi. He was reportedly addicted to liquor and had frequent quarrels with Vasanthi.
Despite being a goldsmith, police said that Arumugam did not have steady employment, leading to problems in the family. Frustrated, Arumugam committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday. A case has been registered with the Bazaar police, and they have started the investigation.
In another incident, S. Sureshkumar (32) from Ondiputhur committed suicide by consuming cow dung powder on Friday, due to heavy loss in business.
