Alleppey-Dhanbad Express coach catches fire

COIMBATORE: The Alleppey-Dhanbad Express was stopped for some time near Oothukuli in Tirupur district on Saturday as one of the coaches caught fire.

According to police, the fire was noticed around 2 p.m. and the train – proceeding to Dhanbad – was stopped immediately. After putting off the fire by the railway staff, the train left for its destination.

Fortunately no passengers were hurt. Investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire is on.
