Tamil movie actor, Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, has been asked to appear at the Race Course Police station here on December 19, for an inquiry with regard to his controversial beep song, which received flak from women.

Based on a complaint, lodged by All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) with the City Police Commissioner, A. Amalraj, cases have been registered against Simbu and Anirudh, who has reportedly composed the music for the beep song.

The summons was handed over to his father T. Rajendran in Chennai, which sought Simbu to appear at the Police Station on December 19, police said.

Anirudh has already made it clear that he has not composed the tune for the beep song, which has vulgar words denigrating women. He was not available in the city.
