The Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ravishankar Prasad today alleged that many political leaders in Tamil Nadu were involved in corruption, and Congress was protecting them when they were in the UPA government.

Two ministers from Tamil Nadu in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA cabinet, A. Raja and Dayanidhi Maran, were involved in multiple scams like 2G Spectrum, which brought shame to the entire country, Prasad said. “DMK ministers were involved in corruption and Congress was protecting them. Now both DMK and Congress are in alliance,” he said, while addressing a rally in Coimbatore.

As far as the AIADMK was concerned, he said that the entire country knows how corruption has grown in the state under its rule.

Stating that the time has come now to think about the future and BJP was the ray of hope, he said that the party, which gave 7.5 percent growth in the country, will bring same development to Tamil Nadu too.

Exuding confidence that BJP will form the government in Assam, Prasad said that the party treats the entire country as one, and appealed the voters to consider supporting them in order to ensure good governance.
