Coimbatore : As part of A drive against illegally functioning hotels and resorts, the district administration today sealed a hotel operating without valid licence.

District Collector K Rajamani has already issued a stern warning that stringent action would be taken against hotels and resorts operating without proper approval and valid licence.

Based on a complaint by the residents that they were disturbed by the visits of customers at odd hours to the the hotel functioning near Nava India on Avanashi Road, the officials visited the premises this morning.

On inspection, the officials led by South Tahsildar Devanathan found the hotel (Silver Key-OYO) had no valid licence and sealed it.

The local chapter of All India Democratic Women’s Associations (AIDWA) had filed a petition with the Collector yesterday to not allow such hotels to operate to curb illegal activities
