CSI Coimbatore Diocese would honour teachers, who strived for 100 per cent results in some of the schools run by it.

“The Teachers Retreat and Awarding Ceremony will be held on June 26, where 18 teachers will be honoured,” Dr. A. Chandran, Convener of CSI Diocese Joint Board of Education, told reporters here.

Four schools run by it have achieved 100 per cent results in the Grade 10 examinations and it will be a joyous moment for the Diocese, which is running 165 educational institutions, with over 20,000 students and 1,300 teachers, besides 700 staff in eight districts, he said.

“It has also been proposed to plant one lakh saplings, mainly fruits such as sappota and guava, for giving nutritious supplement to the student community,” he said.

Education Minister K.A. Sengottayan, Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani, Environment Minister K.C. Karuppannan and Housing Minister Udumalai K. Radhakrishnan would give away the awards to the teachers.
