Coimbatore : Demanding assurance of free and fair elections to the Cooperative Societies on the part of the district administration, DMK today alleged that the ruling AIADMK was back with its old game of preventing Opposition parties from filing nominations.

After submitting a memorandum to District Collector T N Hariharan, DMK district urban president and MLA N Karthik said Opposition members were not allowed to file their nominations when polls were held five years ago.

AIADMK was back at its game this time also and attempted to prevent others from filing nominations and even not accepting those filed by DMK and or any other party, which was undemocratic, he alleged.

Karthik appealed to the Collector to ensure a free and fair elections to the societies in a democratic way.
